Swieconka the Blessing of Easter Food took place today.  The blessing of meat, eggs and bread at the end of Lent is a Catholic tradition particularly popular amongst Polish people, although this morning we saw not just Polish people but many members of our community. Fr Paul blessed the baskets of food, prepared and brought to church by families,  The sprinklings of Holy Water brought much amusement to the children. The baskets of food will be taken back home to be shared amongst family and friends on Easter Sunday.
