Parish Annual General Meeting – 1st February — 3 Comments

  1. I thought the AGM went well, just a shame that the weather put many of coming. It opened up subjects for discussion that we are a bit reticent to face! It was good to see Fr. Ka Fai joining us and underlining the efforts being done to work in partnership.
(was a bit dismayed by October PPC minutes statement on the AGM – “we are obliged” to hold one – didn’t you want to??

    • Sandra,

Many thanks for taking time to comment, and I, as well as the rest of the parish council, also think the evening was really successful and enjoyable, exactly what we were hoping for.

Regards the ppc minutes from October, please remember that the minutes are only a snapshot of the actual discussions that have taken place, and we do take on board the fact that we may need to consider the wording so that the snapshot gives a more rounded reflection on the discussions held.

The parish council has been working hard over the last year to ensure that it runs in line with the current constitution, which on this occasion states that their will be an AGM held and we were conscious that this had not been the case for quite some years. The phrase ‘we are obliged’. Is simply a reference to highlighting something on the construction that was not being fulfilled. We were always looking forward to the evening and have already started thinking on how it can be even more successful in its social element and use for matters of parish business next year.

Thank you for your comments again, they really do help us in our planning and thought process when looking at the parish, decision making and information sharing.

      Kindest regards,

      Geoff Rowlands.

  2. Thanks for that Geoff, having been responsible for an handover book in the past I am acutely aware that the wording of messages etc. can be very misleading!! Glad to know we are on the same page.
